As an adoptee, adoptive parent and adoption professional, I feel blessed to be in such a wonderful community of creating families.
During my parents’ journey in adopting me, adoption files were closed and little or no medical information or advances were available. I noticed that the system has changed so much with the adoption of my children. More medical information is available and even more now as an adoption professional.
A myth in the adoption community that I often find is that adoptive parents do not have the same medical resources available to them. Many of my clients chose to work with their doctors and breastfeed their adopted children. Another wonderful option available now is Cord Blood preservation provided by Lifeline Cryogenics.
Just 2 weeks ago, another client had decided on this option and could not be happier. This was a last minute adoption plan yet it was extremely easy to put together all that is necessary for this wonderful advancement. The professionals at Lifeline Cryogenics did a great job in assisting the adoptive parents through the process. The clients were truly impressed!
From now on, when birth parents are forwarded an application for services from the agency, I will recommend that they consider preserving their child’s cord blood at Lifeline Cryogenics. This is just a small way to help ensure the means of medical help of the children in the future.

As a pediatric endocrinologist, I believe stem cell transplantation, from the umbilical cord of a newborn is promising for the treatment of type 1 Diabetes Mellitus.
Type 1 Diabetes is an autoimmune condition leading to destruction of the islet cells, leading to insulin deficiency. Stem cell transplantation may not achieve a cure by itself, however it is possible that in combination with newer and safer immunosuppressant been developed, we may be able to finally fulfill the dream of finding a cure.

As an obstetrician on Long Island, I encourage my patients to research and educate themselves on the various cord blood companies. Lifeline provides a professional and personalized service for my patients with a knowledgeable and experienced staff in the technology and processing of cord blood.

My wife and I chose to store our baby's cord blood with Lifeline Cryogenics. The facility is located in Stamford, Connecticut which assures processing to start within hours as opposed to days. We were not comfortable with the risks involved with flying our collection. Lifeline is local with state of the art technology that is affordable for families interested in storing their babies cord blood. As an employee at East Coast Fertility, we recommend Lifeline to all of our patients.

We choose Lifeline Cyrogenics over the other Cord Blood institutes because the personal level of service provided to us while making our decision was unprecedented. After interviewing different institutes, the most glaring advantages at Lifeline Cyrogenics was the lack of pressure to sell itself and the education and research experience of the professional staff.
The location of the storage facility in Stamford, CT was also very important in our decision. Since Cord Blood processing is a sensitive procedure, we felt very comfortable with having the sample personally transported to the facility and processed within 24-36 hours to assure viability. Anyone in the the NY metropolitan area should seriously consider Lifeline Cyrogenics and the close proximity of its processing and storage facility.
It was a great experience using Lifeline Cyrogenics and we recommend it to all of our friends and family in addition to my patients and their families.
